Chelsea ‘agree’ verbal deal with Inter’s Achraf Hakimi

A fresh update regarding Chelsea’s reported pursuit of Achraf Hakimi has emerged recently

Hakimi impresses

Hakimi spent two seasons on loan in Germany with Borussia Dortmund where he impressed in a back-five, forming a solid partnership with Jadon Sancho.

Despite an impressive 2019/20 with BVB which saw him score nine and assist 10, Real Madrid seemingly did not want to give Hakimi a chance to impress in their side once he returned from his loan.

Instead, Los Blancos shipped the Moroccan off to Inter Milan for a fee reported to be around £40m.

Inter, like Dortmund in 2019/20, largely operated with a back-five system throughout this past campaign.

This once again allowed Hakimi to excel in his favoured right-wing-back role.

All told, the 22-year-old would score seven and assist 10 in 37 league outings as Inter secured their first Serie A title in 10 years.

Inter want Alonso included in Hakimi deal

Now, on the back of yet another stellar seaosn operating as a right-wing-back, Hakimi is being linked with some top clubs.

Those clubs are said to PSG and Chelsea, the latter of which are believed to have called Hakimi’s agent earlier this month.

And, as mentioned above, a fresh update regarding Chelsea’s pursuit of Hakimi has emerged over the last 24 hours.

Journalist Ekrem Konur has reported that Chelsea have agreed a verbal deal with Hakimi, whilst talks with Inter Milan are continuing.

It is added that Inter have asked Chelsea for €50m plus Marcos Alonso.
