Oscar’s Chelsea stint
Oscar would spend a good chunk of his career on the books of Chelsea.
The Brazilian signed for the Blues in 2012 for a fee believed to be around £28m.
All told, the midfielder then went on to notch 203 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea.
In said ties he would score 38 goals and provide 37 assists as he helped guide Chelsea to two Premier league titles and the League Cup.
Oscar open to Chelsea return
Oscar, though, then made something of a strange career move.
Despite still not entering his prime at the time, Oscar opted to depart Chelsea in January of 2017 for China.
Chelsea did get a hefty sum for the now 29-year-old, believed to be around £54m.
But at the time it did seem like something of a waste of a career, with Oscar clearly having so much potential and ability.
Now, though, it appears that the former Chelsea man is eyeing up a return to Europe in the future.
Oscar’s current contract does not expire until 2024, but when asked if he dreams of Champions League glory as Chelsea prepare to face Manchester City, the midfielder had this to say:
“For sure, but first I have to think on returning to a top side in Europe. I think I will have some opportunities.
“I hope I can continue to play like I’m playing here, so I know I’ll have open doors for me as well.
“I have a good relationship with Chelsea, I have huge fondness for the club and it’s supporters. So, after my contract is over it’s one of the clubs that I will consider with all of my heart.”
