Arsenal could be in line for an imminent funds boost, with suitors having come to the fore for a pair of midfielders who spent this past season out on loan away from the Emirates.

Lazio keen
The first comes in the form of Lucas Torreira.
Uruguayan international Torreira was of course one of a number of players to have been sanctioned a departure from North London last summer.
The ex-Sampdoria man, two years on from arriving at the Emirates, made the move to La Liga, to line up for Atletico Madrid for the 2020/21 campaign.
Torreira’s time in the Spanish capital, all told, proved largely disappointing, though, en route to just three league starts across the entirety of the campaign.
In turn, it came as little surprise when Diego Simeone and co. opted against making the midfielder’s arrival a permanent one ahead of next season.

With Torreira altogether unlikely to reestablish himself in Mikel Arteta’s ranks in the middle of the park anytime soon, though, Arsenal will no doubt be keen to find another potential buyer over the months ahead.
And, as outlined above, this weekend, one such suitor has emerged.
The outfit in question? Lazio. As per a report from Sky Italia, new Biancocelesti boss Maurizio Sarri views Torreira as the ideal addition to his already talented midfield at the Stadio Olimpico.
In turn, representatives from the Serie A outfit have made first contact with the Uruguayan’s agent, regarding a potential return to Italy.
One potential path floated surrounds a swap deal, with Torreira heading to Rome, and Joaquin Correa making the move to the Emirates.
AMN wanted in England
The 2nd out of favour midfield talent in North London being eyed up ahead of next season is Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
AMN, unlike Torreira, actually spent the opening half of the campaign as part of Mikel Arteta’s squad. After struggling to establish himself as an option in the middle of the park with the Gunners, though, the 23-year-old was farmed out to West Bromwich Albion in January.
And Maitland-Niles’ time at the Hawthorns proved altogether more productive.
The Arsenal youth product formed a solid if unspectacular partnership with fellow loanee Conor Gallagher at the heart of the Baggies’ midfield, racking up a none-too-shabby 14 Premier League starts.
West Brom’s subsequent relegation, however, all but ruled the Midlands outfit out of the running for his signature.

But with Arsenal known to be eyeing a number of midfield reinforcements of their own ahead of next season, Maitland-Niles’ future nevertheless looks set to lie away from his parent club.
And, according to the Mirror, a pair of Premier League outfits are keen to take advantage of this situation.
Both Southampton and Watford are said to be readying offers for AMN, which could be forthcoming as early as next week. The former are known to have expressed an interest in the versatile Englishman’s signature in January, with Xisco’s Watford eyeing a splash on the transfer front ahead of their return to the top-flight.
As such, a pair of significant outgoings could well be on the cards at the Emirates in the near future…
