Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette could be out the door this summer and Atletico Madrid are said to waiting to snap up the Frenchman.

Atletico after Lacazette
Arsenal have endured a very difficult season this year and this has led to a number of calls for a large majority of the squad to be moved on in the summer.
One such area which is in need of attention is that of the striking positions with both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette not scoring enough goals to propel their side up the table.
In particular, the Gabonese striker has been well off the pace and suffered with a number of disciplinary issues and health problems relating to a recent malaria contraction.
However it is the French striker, Lacazette, who is the one garnering interest from abroad despite his relatively below par season.
Spanish outlet Todofichajes journalist Francisco Gonzalez has reported that Lacazette’s future is not to be with the Gunners and a move to the Spanish capital may be back on the menu.
Alexandre Lacazette would be one of the signings that Atlético de Madrid would have almost closed for this summer market. The French winger ends his contract with Arsenal in 2022 and will not renew, so his departure is scheduled for this summer.
A seemingly very certain claim about the 29-year-old’s short term future.
Atletico Madrid could be in need of a forward with on loan striker Moussa Dembele failing to score or assist in his few chances this season.
Arteta has dismissed speculation
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has recently dismissed outside influence and said a new contract would be discussed in the summer.
The Spaniard even welcomed the interest saying that it was a indicator that his players must be doing well.
“I’m always happy when people talk about our players and speculate – that means they’re doing well and getting attention from other clubs,” said the Arsenal boss. “The situation with Laca we will address in the summer and speak to him and just propose the future that we want, and that’s it.
“Up to now I just want players focused and only focused on performing and getting the best out of them for the team.”
With Arsenal seemingly not to have European football next season, the likelihood is some players will look to leave in search of it. With limited years on both his contract and career, Lacazette’s departure would make sense.
What Arsenal do in his stead should he leave however, is arguably much more intriguing.
