Info on some of those to have missed out on a spot in Arsenal’s matchday squad to face West Bromwich Albion has been forthcoming online this evening.

West Brom showdown
Mikel Arteta’s men are currently locked in Premier League action with the Baggies at the Emirates.
The matchup, in truth, is of little importance to either side, with Arsenal’s top-6 hopes dead in the water, and Sam Allardyce’s visitors long destined for the Championship.
Mikel Arteta, from a personal standpoint, though, will nevertheless be desperate for his side to bag all three points this evening.
This comes with the Spaniard of course fighting for his future, on the back of an embarrassing exit from Europe in midweek.
Arsenal welcomed former boss Unai Emery’s Villarreal to north London, aiming to bounce back from a first-leg defeat in their Europa League semi-final showdown with the La Liga outfit.
When all was said and done, however, the Gunners fell short, bringing a definitive end to their hopes of securing a Champions League return for next season.

Cedric misses out
Nevertheless, Arteta opted to shake up his starting XI this evening, with the likes of Calum Chambers, Gabriel Martinelli and Willian in from the off:
? Six changes from midweek
➡️ Chambers, Gabriel, Ceballos, Elneny, Willian, Martinelli
⬅️ Bellerin, Mari, Tierney, Partey, Odegaard, Aubameyang#ARSWBA— Arsenal (@Arsenal) May 9, 2021
One of those no doubt disappointed to have missed out once again, though, was Cedric Soares.
The Portuguese, earlier this year, appeared to have established himself as Arsenal’s first-choice right-back.
Recent weeks, however, have seen him fall heavily out of favour, with the reliable Chris Wheatley having revealed that the former Southampton man was actually in line for a return to starting duties versus West Brom, only to be unceremoniously dropped back to the bench:
Cedric’s last appearance for Arsenal was an 11 minute cameo against Slavia Prague last month.
Understand that he was pencilled in to start today but a late change of decision sees him drop to the bench again. #AFC pic.twitter.com/HiHTdI4Uze

Elsewhere, Reiss Nelson, who has been afforded a paltry total of 70 minutes of Premier League action thus far this season, travelled with Arteta’s squad, as a 21st man:
Reiss Nelson here in stand today. Travelled with squad as 21st man.
