A few days before the start of the Euro, Paul Pogba stood out on the large green rectangle thanks to his superb performances with the Blues but also off the field.
It is in the midst of Manchester United, in Roissy-en-Brie, that adidas unveiled the “playground of possibilities” in his image. Designed as part of the adidas Football Collective movement, which is a unique bringing together of individuals, clubs and communities united around the belief that football creates positive change, this 5-a-side soccer field reflects the legacy of the French player in his hometown and is a symbol of transmission to new generations. Inaugurated this Wednesday, June 9, this “playground” should encourage the young people of Seine-et-Marne to take possession of it. In its press release, adidas says the pitch must become “A place of sharing, of social bond for the local communities and the associations which will use it to encourage the practice of a more inclusive and egalitarian game. “
Seeing a playground with the image of a player is not a first in France, adidas already inaugurated the ZZ playground (Zinédine Zidane) a few steps from the Stade de France three years ago. For its part, Nike inaugurated one in Bondy, in honor of Kylian Mbappé. In Roissy-en-Brie, number 6 des Bleus lends his unique style to the design of this land, with the aim of opening up the possibilities for young people in the district where he grew up. “It is a real honor and immense pride to inaugurate this magnificent playground at my home in Roissy-en-Brie! I can see myself over 20 years ago here playing football with my friends. I would have loved to have access to this playground and I am sincerely convinced that it will inspire new generations. While some see it as the construction of a simple playground, I see an endless field of possibilities ”, said the world champion.
In addition to being a great tool for the young people of Roissy and having an extraordinary design, this new playground is unique in France by its manufacture. It is indeed made from 62% recycled materials. As on its football equipment with technology PrimeGreen for example, adidas shows all its implication for the good of the environment. This field was thus designed with 3 tons of non-recycled rubber materials but also and above all 5 tons of recycled rubber, of which 1.5 tons come directly from recycled adidas shoes.
In addition to being the future theater for football tournaments, this playground will also highlight culture and entertainment during the Euro. There will be concerts or participation in tournaments by artists in love with football such as Maes, Dinos, Momsii or Doria, who wished to support the initiative and the collectives involved. With the aim of transmitting knowledge and values, the adidas Football Collective and local associations will also take possession of the playground while Euro matches will be broadcast on the field to allow young people to witness the exploits of the local hero. with the France team.
After the Euro, the land will be bequeathed to the city of Roissy-en-Brie but adidas will continue its long-term support for the development of the association “À CŒUR OUVERT” which will benefit in particular from the playground to organize training sessions, free football tournaments and camps for city children.
