Despite the title of Italian Champion, Inter could continue to lose big in the next transfer window. After the official departure of Antonio Conte to lighten the club’s finances, the Nerrazzuri could also sell players with high market values like Achraf Hakimi. The right side is clearly open to a departure and would especially be very interested in a possible transfer to PSG. Before arriving in Italy last year, the Morocco international had already been contacted by Leonardo. The sporting director hoped to get him back to strengthen the right-back position, which has clearly been lacking at the capital club for years. But despite contacts with his entourage and his agent, PSG could not match the sum requested by Real Madrid (45 million) just like Chelsea, the player’s second choice at that time.
Since then, Achraf Hakimi has been a hit for his first season on the other side of the Alps. Author of 7 goals and 10 assists in 37 league matches, he has adapted perfectly to Antonio Conte’s system. The departure of the Italian technician, with whom he has forged very solid ties, also weighs in the balance. The former Real Madrid player would therefore like to fly to PSG, a club he appreciates as well as his close entourage and in particular his wife, half French, who would like to settle in the capital. Everything therefore seems aligned, especially as Inter Milan, in serious financial difficulty, will not retain the player if a good offer arrived on the table.
Achraf Hakimi, Leonardo’s choice
The young 23-year-old right-back ticks all the boxes for Parisian management and especially for Leonardo. As for three years now, PSG are desperately looking for an international class right-back. Disappointing and not up to the task this season, Alessandro Florenzi will not be retained by PSG who do not wish to exercise their purchase option. If on the side of Nasser Al Khelaifi and Mauricio Pochettino, we are rather inclined to bring back a former in the person of Serge Aurier, this market opportunity could be a game-changer.
For his part, Leonardo does not seem really excited by this idea, on the contrary. He would have already made it known on several occasions that he was not a fan of this profile. The Brazilian sports director, therefore, prefers Achraf Hakimi and he thinks he has the financial capacity to attract him this summer. Money that could perhaps come from the sale of players like Icardi, Kehrer or Sarabia who would not be selected in case of interesting offers.
